We are the award winning 24127thephoenix FTC (First Tech Challenge) team and we will be hosting summer camps in June. FIRST is a wonderful program and FIRST Kentucky is trying to get more robotics into kids hands.
There are two camps, one is XRP Orbit Odyssey, which is designed for 12 and up. It introduces the kids to robotics, how to design, build and drive them in competition! Village School also has a 3D printer so the kids will be designing and building their own attachments.
The next is also FIRST based it is FIRST Lego League. We use Lego Spike Prime Robots to design attachments and code the robots to do tasks. There is a large age range for the Lego as there are different levels. That camp is K through 8th grade.
The camps are at Village School of Louisville, and while they host and sponsor us we are a community team, so we are also looking for other team members through the year!
Orbit Odyssey challenges students to design & program their own robots to navigate unpredictable space environments with an XRP Robot! Through engaging missions, students gain STEM skills working as a team. Learn to design, build, and code LEGO robots! In this camp, you will learn how to build and code robots out of LEGO parts to complete different challenges using the Spike Prime control hub.
